  10. art means sanity for me. I have very unusual sons (it's an euphemism, but I don't want to complain or share the details here) and art helps me control my emotions, find peace and acceptance, and forget, at least for some time. without it, I'd gone crazy, or depressed, or I don't know what, but it wouldn't be good for sure ;)

  11. Congrats Jenny!!! So excited for you!! Art for me has meant healing. As a cancer survivor and someone who deals with anxiety it is a way for me to center myself, calm down, and focus on something that I love. My mind gets lost in the creating and that can bring me peace. Thanks for the opportunity to win a spot in this fab course!! xo

  14. Art has always been an important piece of my life. My grandfather was an artist and my step father - I have always filled my house with other peoples art. Even in my 20's when I had so little coin I would still try and buy one piece each year as special treat for myself. My husband came with lots of art since his first wife was also an artist (and luckily I like her art!) . I have spent the last year consciously working on my own art and trying to expand my actual knowledge as well as beat down those voices in my head hat say I am not an artist!

  21. Art has always been part of my life. It nourishes me. I had put it aside for a while to raise twins with special needs, and although I love being a Mom, I did not feel totally fulfilled. When a love one of mine passed, I realized that Art helps me to follow my soul's purpose. I got back into art with Life Book 2014 and would love to continue in 2015!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Art offers me a chance to be imperfect, to explore authenticity and play like a child. Being a bookkeeper and a perpetual perfectionist, I crave creativity, spontaneity, and FUN! Be it the artists on facebook that I follow, the graffiti on the street, the doodles on a notepad or the galleries that I pass. Art is life.

  96. Well for me, being able to express myself through art means the world to me, but I really need some help in developing my newbie techniques, which is why I would love to win a place in LB 2015. Before I began painting again a couple of months ago, I was in such a dark place. My mother's elderly and very sick and I'm looking after her - and because of that my husband walked out on me and went to live with his ex-girlfriend. He told me via a 3 line message on Facebook. That was the sum of a 23 yr old marriage (and a 35 yr long relationship) - 3 lines... no phone call, nothing? But now I feel I am beginning to be able to start my healing process. I just need the guidance of awesome teachers such as Tam, Jane D, and yourself to guide me through the techniques. This comment is the first time I have shared with anyone what my story is - that in itself is surely a good sign! Thanks for listening, Fiona <3

  129. Life Book did this. Art is the first way I have ever truly sat down and thought about what was really going on inside of me. To put those things onto paper and create something beautiful out of all the ugly and sad has been an eye opening and very freeing experience for me. Just this past week, I have become more aware of how this can be another way that I can share my faith. One day, after I am no longer on this earth, my hope is that my artworks will be another way that my children and grandchildren will see what my faith in God and Jesus meant to me and that it can be for them as well. My thanks to all the fabulous teachers on Life Book. Deb Lewis.
